This is a larger, solid, precious, crystal Opal, with vivid flashes of violet, blue, green play of color. And what I mean by larger is that this Opal is decidedly larger than you'd typically see. Solid, meaning this is one chunk of natural Opal (no doublets or triplets, etc.). Precious, meaning it has good, flashy play of color. Crystal, meaning transparent.

Some of these pics arewas taken by a window, indoors in natural indirect light, while the others were taken outside on a typical grey, cloudy day here in Portland!
In the still photos the opal beads appear flat/milky white, BUT when you see them in person, they are actually quite colorful! Primarily blue and green flashes are clearly visible in the beads. If you'd like to see a video, message me!

Btw, If you like a pendant, you can buy it separately from the beaded strap, or you can have me make a different gemstone beaded necklace if you prefer. Write me for more details!

The Specifics:
The pendant is Ethiopian Welo Opal.
The gem beads are, in order, crystal/milky Opal, green Peridot, aqua Apatite, and dark blue Sapphire beads.
The tiny seed beads are both Japanese and Czech glass in a variety of sizes.
The lobster clasp, and chain and crimp beads are the only metal on this piece, and they are 14K Gold-filled (though if you prefer Sterling Silver, I will switch them at no extra cost).

The pendant, including the beaded bail, is 1 1/4 inches long.
The centerpiece is 9/16 inches wide.
The necklace length is your choice: just choose what length you'd like, (up to 24 inches at no extra cost), plus I add a 1.5 inch extender chain on each piece. If you'd like it shorter or longer (than the options in the drop-down menu), just message me.

Your new necklace comes packaged in a pretty, sturdy cardboard gift box, with cotton padding. I will ship your new necklace First Class, via USPS, for free, with insurance and tracking.

How it's made:
The setting is made of tiny glass seed beads, which are hand stitched, one bead to the next, with a fine beading needle, using a heavy-duty 6 lb test, spun, braided, nylon beading thread. There are multiple plies of this thread in every bead! I start making a netting to form the back side of the bezel, and then, while holding the stone in place, I sew one bead at a time around the perimeter of the cabochon, slowly building the beaded bezel, to fit each unique gemstone, until it is encased. My beadwork is NOT attached to the stone, just surrounding it and well-fitted to it.
The straps are strung on cable, which is made of 49 strands of stainless steel microwire, coated with nylon to protect it from abrasion, rated at a minimum of 10 lb test strength.

When you look at these, bear in mind, I am NOT a photographer. I guarantee this is prettier in person! I took these photos in natural daylight and do my best to accurately portray the colors as they look in real life.
